Air Monitoring notices
Q: Can I notify for my air monitoring project through this system?
A: Yes. Consultants may notify and pay for air monitoring through this system. Enter your account and you will see unpaid notices at the top of the screen and paid notices on the bottom of the screen.
Q: How do I notify? There is nothing for me to fill out.
A: Log into your account. You will see a list of projects your firm is associated with. Simply click the "Print Notice" link for the project you wish to notify for and your notice will generate as a pdf. You may now fax, email or snail mail the notice to MDH.
Q: I have an unpaid notification in my account. Do I have to pay for it through the online system?
A: No. You are not required to pay through the system. You may fill out the "Air Monitoring Notification (PDF)" form and submit the appropriate 2% fee to MDH by business check, cashier's check or money order.
Q: I have an unpaid notification in my account, but I know I paid for it with a check. Why is it still there?
A: For computer security reasons, the online notification system does not have access to MDH's internal Asbestos Notification database. So payments that are made by business check, cashiers check or money order will not be reflected in the online system. The notices that show up in your account as "unpaid" will disappear in 14 days.

Amending
Q: Can I amend my current notices through this system?
A: Yes. Contractors may now amend their notifications online.
Q: I've been amending my permit by fax. I want to amend online now. Can I do that?
A: Yes. As long as the original end date for the permit has not passed and you haven't extended it via faxed amendment. If the original end date has passed you will not be able to amend online and must continue to amend the permit via fax. NOTE: Any previous amendments submitted to MDH via fax will not show up online.
Q: My job has been postponed indefinitely. Can I still amend it?
A: Yes. Just be sure to amend the end date far enough out so that it will not expire and disappear from the online system. Once a permit expires and disappears from the online system, it cannot be "re-loaded".
Q: I have a LOT of permits. It's frustrating scrolling up and down trying to find the right permit to amend. Is there a better way to do this other than just scrolling up and down?
Yes. For both Firefox© and Internet Explorer© use "Ctrl-F" to find what you are looking for. In Firefox© the "Find" feature will appear at the bottom of the browser screen. In Internet Explorer© the "Find" feature will appear at the top of the browser screen. Type in the name of the site (if the name of the site is "Franklin Elementary School" you can just type in "Franklin") or the address (if the address is "1234 First Street" you can just type in "1234") in the "Find" box and the browser will highlight the word or numbers you were searching for.

Entering an original notice
Q: Can two or more people within the company log-in with a different email address and password?
A: No. The system is designed to deliver notice and payment confirmations to one e-mail address only (i.e. Asbestos@Abatement.com, R.E.Moval@AOL.com, etc). If contractors wish to give multiple employees access to their notification account, it is up to the contractor to determine who has access to the e-mail account and the password.
Q: Can I save my unfinished notification and get back to it later?
A: Yes. After completing each page in the notification system, click the "Save and Continue" button at the bottom of the page. This will save your progress so you may return at a later time to continue filling out the notice.
Q: Can I notify for an emergency permit online?
A: Yes. The system will allow for emergency notifications.
Q: Can I enter multiple notices and pay for them at one time?
A: No. At this time you must pay for each notice as it is entered. MDH may consider adding a feature that would allow multiple notices to be paid for with a single payment in the future.
Q: I am conducting an outside demolition project. Since air monitoring is not required for my project, do I still have to pick an air monitor?
A: No. Since you are not required to conduct air monitoring, do not select an Air Monitoring Consultant.

Payment
Q: Can I submit my notice online and send a check or money order at a later date?
A: No. In order to use the MDH Online Asbestos-Related Work Notification system, a Minnesota licensed asbestos contractor must notify MDH electronically and then pay electronically through US Bank.
Q: Will MDH accept my credit card number to pay for my regular notifications?
A: No. MDH will only accept company checks, cashier's checks, or money orders to pay for regular paper notifications.
Q: Can I enter multiple notices and pay for them at one time?
A: No. At this time you must pay for each notice as it is entered. MDH may consider adding a feature that would allow multiple notices to be paid for with a single payment in the future.
Q: My notice was rejected by MDH. What about the permit fee I submitted?
A: Your permit fee will be refunded to you after the quarterly reporting for the calendar year is reconciled.
Q: I know I paid for my permit fee, but it is not showing up on my "Paid Notices" list. Should I re-enter the project information and pay again?
A: No. Do not pay for the permit again. Contact MDH at 651-201-4620 for assistance.
