Q: Does this grant cover only survivors or those who have passed due to a traumatic brain injury?

Q: I need help completing the application (for an Individual?).
A: MDH does not offer technical assistance in completing this application. All applicants must complete the application, along with all required attachments, by the posted deadline, to be considered. If this question is for an individual applicant only, please see the link provided for Questions 1-4 in determining eligible applicants.
Q: Section 2.2. Is there an interview template, or will the awarded vendor supply the questions for the interview?
A: If this question pertains to the interviews with the TBI individual and their families, the grantee will work with MDH to develop a mutually agreeable list of questions. Grantee is expected to have knowledge of appropriate questions due to the requirements under “eligible applicants”.
Q: Section 2.2. Are Assessments provided, or will vendor be expected to create?
A: If this question pertains to “assessment of current health and social status,” grantee will work with MDH to develop a mutually agreeable assessment tool. Grantee is expected to have knowledge of appropriate assessment tools due to the requirements under “eligible applicants”.
Q: Is the annual Brain Injury Conference at the cost of the awarded vendor? Or, will MDH fully or partially fund the Conference?
A: Grantee will be required to host the annual conference utilizing the grant funds provided as part of this solicitation.
Q: Section 2.2. page 9 of 19. Define data elements.
A: Data elements as described in the solicitation include address, contact information, number of contacts, outcomes, and other agreed upon data elements in an agreed upon format. (“agreed upon” with MDH).
Q: What is the cadence for the meetings and in what format?
A: Please see requirements under the “eligible applicants”. The grantee is expected to already have these elements in place.
Q: Are foreign entities, in the United States, but not in Minnesota, allowed to bid on the project?
A: Please see “eligible applicants” section of the solicitation.
Q: Our company has a For-Profit and not-for-profit. Our for profit has extensive experience, but the not-for-profit was created recently. Can our company bid on the project?
A: Please see the “eligible applicants” section of the solicitation. Applicants must be a private, not-for-profit, community-based organization, that currently provides traumatic brain injury services to individuals and their families.
Q: Is there an expectation for in-person visitation to assess individuals if they meet the requirements of the program?
A: Assessment as described in the solicitation includes multiple contact modalities (telephone, email, text, letter).
Q: Is this a renewal program or is this a new program?
A: This program has been ongoing for approximately 25 years and will continue as long as there is adequate funding.

A: Yes, there is a current vendor/grantee. The current contractor is the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance.*
