Looping

Looping is another term for providing guided experiences outside the primary program area or agency.

These experiences enhance inter- and intra-disciplinary collaboration and improve residents' knowledge of agency and community resources.

Looping experiences can extend beyond the immediate public health setting to other partner agencies, such as local public health agencies or community-based organizations like refugee resettlement agencies and homeless shelters.

This component of clinical immersion typically involves passive learning like observation, teaching, and meetings at the individual, community, and systems-level of public health practice(1)
