Health Care Workforce Data and Analysis
The Health Workforce Planning and Analysis Unit is housed within the Minnesota Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC) at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).
Our team of researchers collects and analyzes Minnesota-specific data on nearly 20 different licensed health care professions.
MDH is the only organization collecting this level of detailed data on the state’s health care workforce. We provide data and analyses to legislators, reporters, workforce planners, researchers, and others, for a variety of purposes.
The Health Workforce Planning and Analysis Unit develops reports and presentations on individual professions and a wide range of health care specialties, such as mental health and oral health. We also provide a data about health care professions by county that allows you to view and download data by licensed profession.
Please contact our workforce team at health.workforce@state.mn.us with data requests or questions about the state's health care workforce.
