Community Health Services Mailbag: Jobs, Events, and General Information
The Community Health Services Mailbag and Calendar—commonly called "the Mailbag"—is a weekly email bulletin of information submitted by and for local, tribal, state, and community public health in Minnesota.
MDH sends the Mailbag each Wednesday, and posts are due by 7:00 AM each Tuesday.
There will be no Mailbag on Aug. 21, 2024.
The Mailbag provides a coordinated, non-duplicative, emailed source of information for local public health professionals, including announcements, virtual/online events, tools, resources, and jobs.
This free service is designed with the following Minnesota audiences in mind: SCHSAC members, CHS administrators, public health directors, local public health staff, MDH staff, and friends of local public health in Minnesota.
Types of open positions appropriate for readers include:
- Community health worker
- Health educator
- Health administrator or supervisor
- Environmental scientist or specialist
- Epidemiologist
- Health planner, researcher, or analyst
- Licensure, inspection, or regulatory specialist
- Mental health counselor
- Public health educator
- Public health nurse
- Public health nutritionist
- Public health program specialist
- Public health planner
MDH discourages you from submitting jobs not directly related to public health, like IT or administrative support. It's unlikely these kinds of staff subscribe to the Mailbag, and you'll have better success posting those jobs elsewhere.
If you have questions, please contact the Center for Public Health Practice at health.mailbag@state.mn.us. Please do not submit posts to this email address, but instead use the "submit a post" button above.

How is the Mailbag formatted?
The Mailbag is mostly plain text to make sure it reads well in all clients and applications. This means that your submission will not retain bullets or numbers, bold/italicized text, or line breaks. Please keep this in mind when you're submitting your post, and make your post easy for readers to digest.
