Mammography

FDA Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA)

The Mammography Quality Standards Act of 1992 (MQSA) is a federally regulated program enacted by Congress to ensure that all women have access to quality mammography for the detection of breast cancer in its earliest, most treatable state. The Food and Drug Administration developed and enforces most all mammography activities provided to the public with the exception of stereotactic mammography.

Who should you contact:

Direct all stereotactic questions to the MDH X-ray Unit at health.xray@state.mn.us or 651-201-4545.

For questions related to breast specific gamma imaging, contact MDH Radioactive Material Unit at health.ram@state.mn.us or 651-201-4400.

All other questions regarding the FDA MQSA program, contact the MQSA Hotline directly at 1-800-838-7715 or MQSAhotline@hcmsllc.com.
