Health Care Affordability Advisory Task Force
The Health Care Affordability Advisory Task Force is an advisory group that brings together the voices of those who pay for care – patients, consumers, employers, and other purchasers – alongside health policy experts to help the Center shape strategies to make health care more affordable and sustainable in Minnesota.
The task force meets quarterly to review state data on health care cost trends and listen to the lived experiences of Minnesotans. Grounded by evidence, it offers input on actionable policy changes designed to help reduce the financial strain of health care on Minnesotans. Task force members also participate in the Center’s public events and communications efforts to bring attention to the issue of health care affordability.
The Health Care Affordability Advisory Task Force will consult the Center’s Provider and Payer Advisory Task Force, forming later in 2025. The Provider and Payer Advisory Task Force will include insurers, providers and health industry leaders from across the state. This group will provide the Health Care Affordability Advisory Task Force with insight into cost drivers and practical advice on cost-savings solutions and their potential tradeoffs or implementation challenges. For more information, see the Provider and Payer Advisory Task Force Charter (PDF).
