Hard Tick Relapsing Fever (Borrelia miyamotoi)
Hard tick relapsing fever (HTRF) is caused by Borrelia miyamotoi bacteria, which is distantly related to the bacteria that cause Lyme disease. Small numbers of human cases have been reported since 2011 from the Upper Midwest and Northeastern states.
