Scabies

Human scabies is caused by a mite that lives under the skin and causes an itchy rash. It is found all around the world and can affect people of all ages, races, and social classes.

    Hennepin County provides scabies fact sheets for parents and technical guidance for childcare settings and schools to provide prevention and control guidelines. 
     
  • LA County: Scabies Toolkit: Healthcare Settings
    The County of Los Angeles scabies toolkit contains comprehensive prevention and control guidelines as well as other materials available for download.

Scabies is not a reportable condition in Minnesota. However, experts are available to answer questions about the disease as well as preventing and controlling infestations. Call 651-201-5414 for guidance.
