Varicella (Chickenpox)

Varicella (chickenpox) is a very contagious disease-causing rash and sometimes fever. For most healthy people, chickenpox will not result in complications. However, the disease can cause serious health problems in adults, teens, those who are pregnant, or who have a weakened immune system. The varicella vaccine is the best way to protect against the disease and to protect others who are at risk for severe disease but cannot get vaccinated, like pregnant people, or those who are immunocompromised.
