Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Although mental health and suicide prevention is important to address year-round, Suicide Prevention Awareness Month provides a dedicated time for people, organizations, and communities to join their voices and share that there is hope, help is available, and healing is possible.
Messaging toolkit
This toolkit is designed for any person, organization, and community to use as a starting point to talk about mental health and suicide prevention.
The theme for this year is “Changing the Narrative on Suicide" with the call to action #Start the Conversation and it contains ideas, key messages, resources, social media posts, webinars to attend and share, and other opportunities to learn and talk about suicide prevention. It is encouraged to tailor these messages to best fit your community’s needs.
