Suicide Prevention Regional Coordinators
The Suicide Prevention Regional Coordinators (PDF) work with individuals, organizations, and communities to support community-led suicide prevention efforts. Suicide Prevention Regional Coordinators help:
- Provide technical assistance and support.
- Increase awareness of mental health and suicide prevention.;
- Provide information on the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and other statewide and regional mental health and suicide resources.
- Prioritize health opportunities for specific populations and populations at risk.
- Disseminate resources on effective policies, practices, and programs to prevent suicide, guided by the goals and objectives laid out in the Minnesota Suicide Prevention State Plan.
- Convene regional meetings to network and encourage collaboration and alignment of those working on mental health promotion and suicide prevention.
Carlton County and Canvas Health have been awarded the Suicide Prevention Regional Coordination Grants through the Minnesota Department of Health, to support regional comprehensive suicide preventions efforts that serve all 87 counties and tribal lands in Minnesota. Suicide Prevention Regional Coordinators operate under these two grants.
