From 2009 to 2018, there were 3,846 reported cases of cryptosporidiosis and 79 reported outbreaks of cryptosporidiosis in Minnesota. Only 142 (27%) cases occurred among residents of the metropolitan area (4.6 per 100,000). Fifty-six (11%) cases required hospitalization, for a median of 4 days (range, 2 to 31 days).
