Healthy Kids Minnesota

Thanks to a five-year federal grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the MN Biomonitoring Program can now get a better picture of children's exposure to chemicals across the state. Read about Healthy Kids Minnesota.

Healthy Rural and Urban Kids

By testing rural and urban preschoolers, the MN Biomonitoring Program will learn if Minnesota needs to take more steps to protect kids from exposure so they are ready to learn and do well in school. Results from the samples (collected in 2018) will be released in 2020.

Minnesota Family Environmental Exposure Tracking (MN FEET)

The MN FEET biomonitoring study collected urine and cord blood samples from moms and their babies to protect families and communities from harmful exposure to mercury, lead, and cadmium.

Perfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)

Since 2008, the biomonitoring program at MDH has conducted three projects testing blood levels of PFAS in the East Metro area of the Twin Cities, as directed by the Minnesota Legislature.
