2021 Clinical PrEP guideline updates
In 2021, the CDC updated the clinical guidelines for PrEP. For more information and to review the full guide, visit CDC: Clinician Guidlines for PrEP.
  • Reporting HIV/AIDS
    Cases of HIV/AIDS must be reported to MDH within one working day. All laboratories are required to report the results of all CD4+ lymphocyte counts and percents and the results of all HIV viral detection laboratory tests.

  • Medscape CE
    Medscape LLC provides online continuing education (CE) credit for clinicians through the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Vital Signs: HIV Transmission Along the Continuum of Care- United States, 2016 is available and CE expires on 9/23/2020.
  • PEP: Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
    The National Clinician Consultation Center offers access to PEP and bloodborne pathogen exposure information. Visit online or by phone consultation at 1-888-448-4911.
    • Occupational PEP phone consultations: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, 7 days a week.
    • Non-occupational PEP phone consultations:. 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, Mon.- Fri. and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, weekend and holidays.
  • PrEP: Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis
    The National Clinician Consultation Center offers up-to-date clinical consultation for PrEP decision-making, from determining when PrEP is an appropriate part of a prevention program to understanding laboratory protocols and follow-up tests. Visit online or by phone consultation at 1-855-HIV-PREP or 1-855-448-7737 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, Mon. - Fri.
  • Perinatal HIV/AIDS
