WIC Prenatal Participation

Data on prenatal participation among mothers of infant WIC participants.

The Tips for Navigating Interactive Data Dashboards (PDF)

Suggested citation: Minnesota WIC Information System. Prenatal participation among mothers of infants participating in the WIC program, by location and by race and ethnicity. Minnesota WIC Program: 2024.

WIC does not collect information on gender identity. “Mothers” thus includes birthing individuals who may not identify as mothers.

Prenatal participation:
no prenatal: participated postpartum or infant only
< 3 months: participated less than three months during pregnancy
≥ 3 months: participated three or more months during pregnancy

Methodology and Interpretation: Location and Race/Ethnicity (PDF)

* Totals and numbers < 5 are suppressed. Percentages are not calculated for agencies with < 30 participants.

When multiple years are selected, map totals are cumulative.

WIC will maintain at least 3 years of data on our website. For WIC local agency staff, previous years can be found in the appropriate ANNUAL REPORTS folder in Infoview.
