Studies/Assessments

Collecting and evaluating data to assess environmental health hazards are important to the mission of the Minnesota Department of Health. We work in collaboration with local, state, and federal environmental and health agencies and academic institutions to collect and assess data regarding exposures to chemicals and other substances that may pose health risks to the public.

The following is a list of selected studies and assessments that the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), Environmental Surveillance and Assessment Section* participated in to assess environmental health hazards. To conduct studies and assessments MDH relies, in a large part, on the availability of funding from external sources, such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Minnesota Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources.

Note that this page does not contain a comprehensive list of environmental health studies and assessments conducted by MDH. Research studies and reports are conducted by multiple programs in the Section, and reported on program webpages.

*This Section includes the Health Risk Assessment Unit, Site Assessment and Consultation Unit, and the Environmental Impacts Analysis Unit.
