Chemicals Under Review
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reviews information about chemicals in response to requests for assistance and guidance from programs within MDH and from other state agencies, such as the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. MDH conducts a review of information on a chemical's toxicity to determine if a health-based guidance value for groundwater, air or other environmental media can be developed or updated.
The following is a list of chemicals for which review has been initiated, including those being completed under the Drinking Water Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CEC) program. Chemicals will be added to this list as new reviews are initiated. Chemicals will remain on this list at least 30 days from the date that they are posted. During that time, MDH invites interested parties to submit and discuss toxicity studies that relate to these chemicals and that are relevant to human health.
Upon completion of review or re-evaluation, chemicals are removed from the table below and added to the Human Health-based Water Guidance Values Table. For more information, contact the Health Risk Assessment Unit.
