Preparing for your WIC Appointment

Welcome to WIC!

Here is some information to help you prepare for your WIC certification appointment.

What to expect at your WIC appointment

Refer to the WIC Appointments page for more information about your WIC appointment.

  • WIC will check proof of income, address, and identity to confirm whether you and/or your child(ren) are eligible for the program.
You may provide proof of income, address, and identity to the WIC clinic during the application process or at the certification appointment. Be sure to have proofs ready for your appointment if you didn’t provide them during your application.
  • WIC will check height, weight, and hemoglobin for all WIC applicants. Hemoglobin is required for infants 9 months of age and older.
In some cases, WIC may accept measurements checked by your health care provider within the last 60 days. Contact your local WIC office to see if this is an option for your upcoming appointment.
